Seeking an experienced administrative assistant who will provide support to the Vice President and Group Publisher in addition to general office and reception duties. 




  • Respond to customers inquiries by phone or email, efficiently and accurately
  • Greet and direct visitors in compliance with PCI and Health & Safety policies
  • Maintain an up-to-date internal listing of key sales, editorial and distribution contacts
  • Develop exceptional knowledge of Metroland products, services and regional structures
  • Perform administrative functions for Executive and Finance
  • Prepare materials for internal and external couriers
  • Maintain reception area product display
  • Draft internal communications
  • Act as liaison for building services
  • Maintain security key card access
  • Calendar management
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings/conferences/conference calls
  • Documentation preparation
  • As part of this role, you will be required to handle credit card information. Metroland Media is a PCI compliant company, and required people in this role to take PCI training to handle cards in a safe and compliant manner. 



  • Degree or Diploma in Administration or in a related field
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Helpful, outgoing, enjoys taking initiative
  • Excellent computer skills, competent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in handling confidential information
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 10kg, keyboarding and bending floor to waist
