Serving Hamilton and the surrounding area including:  Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Waterdown, Flamborough, Ancaster, Dunnvlle, Smithville, Dundas, Stoney Creek, Grimsby, St. Catharines, Fonthill, Niagara Falls, Welland, Binbrook, Beamsville, Cambridge, Guelph, Caledonia, Hagersville, Jarvis and Port Dover.  In the summer months, The Spectator also reaches the Grey-Bruce peninsula and Muskoka region.

 

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The Hamilton Spectator currently has an opening for a part time Paperhandler. This is a great opportunity to join our fast paced manufacturing operation.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Unload and stack rolls of newsprint with the use of clamp trucks
  • Load paper ramp with newsprint
  • Remove cardboard headers from rolls
  • Cut newsprint from cores
  • Bale cores
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and record of work
  • Complete all duties in accordance with our Health and Safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • Completion of High School Education is required
  • Fork truck experience is an asset but is will train
  • Self motivated and can work with minimal supervision
  • Organizational skills and a proven good work attendance record 
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Must be able to life 25lbs
