THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Have you ever dreamed about working in the media industry? Do you find that you have been told that you could sell anything to anyone? Do you enjoy building strong relationships with a variety of clientele?

 

Metroland Media is looking for 5 elite prospectors to join a brand new team. We are looking to develop a team of 10 who will tackle all new business development within the Metroland Central footprint that includes the regions of Peel, Toronto, York, Simcoe, and Muskoka. This team will be tasked with pure business development. If you are hunter and closer, look no further. If your ultimate goal is to prospect and drive sales, this is the position for you. The main location is at our Mississauga News office; however you will be encouraged to spend the majority of your time meeting clients in specific market places. This team will signify a sales hub for all new business. Please note that revenue generating accounts will not be provided. This is strictly a prospecting position.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Acquire new accounts through various strategies, including: generating leads, networking with key decision makers, and active researching.
  • Responsible for introducing and selling innovative marketing solutions to local small- and medium-sized businesses while achieving aggressive sales targets.
  • Continuously responsible for prospecting for new business accounts, source leads, cold call, and research to generate sales in multi-media platforms
  • Provides customers with creative and effective advertising solutions and will play a key role in the overall success of our organization
  • Keep connected with new prospected clients and the account manager to ensure the new account is maintained and properly transitioned 
  • Provide consulting, using out-of-the-box thinking for creating proposals to meeting customer's marketing needs
  • As part of this role, you will be required to handle credit card information. Metroland Media is a PCI compliant company and requires people in this role to take PCI training to handle credit cards in a safe and compliant manner

 

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing or in related field
  • Minimum 2+ years sales prospecting experience
  • Proven prospecting and closing experience
  • A track record of generating sales revenue and unprecedented drive for results
  • Must have an expert level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent prospecting and presentation skills
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and strategic-thinking with the ability to make quality decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Must have an experience prospecting and developing effective relationships with clients and team members
  • Motivated self-starter with the discipline to work independently to prospect for new business and to consistently achieve sales targets
  • Required to have the ability to be coachable, open-minded, and a willingness to be trained and developed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Sales Force is an asset
