    The Waterloo Region Record is looking for 5 outgoing, positive individual with great customer service skills to be the public face of The Waterloo Region Record during community events this summer. The Event Host position is a temporary, part-time position from May to October and scheduled between 8–29 hours per week. Flexibility is required as many shifts are scheduled during weekends but may also include day and evening work.




    • Interact with the public and represent the publication during community events 
    • Promote company initiatives, including new products and corporate charities and subscriptions
    • Share giveaways and lead involvement of children and public in activities
    • Set up and tear down event equipment, including tents, banners and other supplies



    • Completion of or currently enrolled in a Degree or Diploma in Marketing or Event Planning with experience in event marketing, promotions, or a retail sale environment
    • Outgoing and comfortable talking to the public
    • Strong organization and communication skills
    • Sales experience an asset
    • Experience working with minimal supervision and taking initiative
    • Ability to lift medium to heavy objects, including events tent
    • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required
