    The Sales Lead Generation Specialist is responsible for prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads to support the Outside sales representatives for both print and digital products. This individual will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential.


    This is an entry level position that is responsible for setting up new client meetings as well as conducting outbound sales calls for our numerous advertising opportunities.


    • Develop new business via telephone and mass communication channels including email and social media platforms to identify appropriate advertisers within the target market.
    • Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects.
    • Conduct a thorough needs analysis to help identify and recommend appropriate product selection.
    • Identify key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline.
    • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
    • Work with the Team Lead and Advertising Manager to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet monthly revenue goals.
    • As part of this role, you will be required to handle credit card information. Metroland Media is a PCI compliant company and requires people in this role to take PCI training to handle cards in a safe and compliant manner.




    • Degree or Diploma in Business or in a related field.
    • Minimum 1-3 years of telemarketing and/or inside sales experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet and/or exceed determined sales and activity quotas.
    • A proven track record of strong client relationships.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Possess an upbeat, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
    • Must be awesome at opening doors and getting appointments from a cold start.
    • Must be highly self-motivated.
    • Professional phone etiquette.
    • Career minded vision.
    • Works well with other employees and is a team player with a positive attitude.
    • Be capable of handling customer rejection.
    • Previous work experience in sales, marketing, promotions or telemarketing.
